How it’s Irish: It’s about IRISH PUBS! And St. Patrick’s Day, of course.

I am very pleased that my local, St. James Gate, in Maplewood, made this list. My mother personally emailed Peter Genovese several times (she wasn’t ballot-stuffing; there were some email issues). Tom Dunne and Tony Horswill run the Sunday session there, which is normally the first and third Sundays of the month but there are extras this March, because March: Sunday, March 15, as well as a 1-4 p.m. session on Tuesday, St. Patrick’s Day. See you there!

I can’t vouch for all of these because I haven’t been to them all, but would welcome feedback from those who have!

The grand prize winner in our N.J.’s best bars showdown has been crowned, and now it’s time for even more celebration with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner. Prodigious amounts of Guinness and corned beef will be poured and served in the next few days, and everyone will break out the green hats, shirts and shamrocks.…
