Set Dancing, Irish Literature at Seton Hall tonight, Tomorrow!

How It’s New York: I wrote this one up for Baristanet.com, which is a site serving my area in Northern New Jersey.  Seton Hall is in South Orange, just two towns away fro Millburn, and on a direct NJ Transit line to the city.
How It’s Irish:  These events are sponsored by P.I.P.E., Pirates of Irish Persuasion and Extraction.  No, it’s not a bunch of Irish-Americans going “aarrr” with eye patches.  But I like the image all right.

The “related posts” are all on Baristanet, and well worth checking out!

We have other events sponsored by P.I.P.E. on the scrolling calendar too!

P.I.P.E.– Pirates of Irish Persuasion and Extraction– are busy this autumn.  Why Pirates?  The Seton Hall Pirates, of course.  But you don’t have to be a student, or even Irish, to join in the craic.  That’s Irish for “fun.”  And it’s all free!
Tonight at Cryan’s Beef and Ale House in South Orange take a set dancing lesson with Hugh Conway from Washington, D.C..  That’s from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
P.I.P.E. says:

We’re all beginners, so join in the fun!

And tomorrow night, join the students for some actual study:  as part of the Irish Studies Discussion Series, P.I.P.E. presents “Ireland in Literature.”   Two Seton Hall professors, Dr. Fred Booth and Dr. Kelly Shea, are featured.  Dr. Booth will talk about James Joyce’s use of the Classics in his writing, and Dr. Shea will read from her own creative nonfiction about her travels in Ireland.
7:00 p.m., Main Lounge Foyer, University Center
