G.B.S, R.I.P.

How It’s New York: this comes from Project Shaw, one of New York’s treasures. The best actors in the city rush to participate in their events!
How It’s Irish: George Bernard Shaw was an Irishman and he and Oscar Wilde used to joke about a Hibernian Society. Never mind that for years their Irishness was appropriated by English scholars; they were all the same (& it shows in their work!)  Shaw lived until 1950.  Good to remember that Victorian/Edwardians did not just die when the century did.  He lived through both World Wars!

Today is the anniversary of his death. Oscar Wilde died November 30 (diff year though, 1900! The two men were born two years apart)
