Welcome to a new blogger/photographer, Ray P. Foley! Ray stopped by the Wee Craic’s Tullamore Dew Whiskey Tasting last Friday and took a series of pics.
We’ll have a report on the Wee Craic Festival itself from blogger Orla O’Sullivan, who will also be reporting for the Irish Echo. It’s not too late to go along yourself: Short Films are at Arlene’s Grocery at 95 Stanton St., and the after party with The Mighty Stef will be at RBar, 218 Bowery. They write:
The night starts with at Arlene’s with “the best of Irish shorts” screening at 7pm. These are award-winning shorts selected from the Galway Film Fleadh (Bird Food, Thin Ice and Pet Hate to name a few) and recent Oscar nominated shorts. Films included must be Irish in theme, have been shot in Ireland, feature Irish talent either behind or in front of the camera, or have been made here in NYC by local Irish filmmakers, such as the Cork Film Festival’s winner of the Best Irish Short Film award, Pentecost.The after party and music (Mighty Stef) at R Bar is brings film and music lovers together with an open bar from 80301030pm. The Wee Craic has in the past drawn headlining performers such as Colin Devlin (the Devlins), Mundy, Laura Izibor and Mark Geary.
So bring along some friends, make some new ones, open your eyes to some of Ireland’s best short film, and enjoy music and drinks afterwards. It’s all part of the Craic.
