The Bengals won the last meeting between the teams, 33-23 last season in Week 17. That snapped a three-game winning streak for the Browns against the Bengals. The Bengals lead the all-time series between the division rivals, 51-42, but the Browns have the advantage in Cleveland, 26-20.The Bengals and Browns didn’t start off 2020 in a great way. However, both teams get a chance to get over that loss with a quick turnaround on Thursday Night Football.

Cincinnati saw moments of what we all hope Joe Burrow can be in the NFL. He called an audible to a quarterback drawn that resulted in a touchdown run. He also had a veteran like control of the offense in the final two minute drill that setup the team with a chance to win at the end of the game. He also threw a very unfortunate pick in the fourth quarter right to a defensive lineman, and he still looks like he is getting on the same page with some of his receivers.

It was the Bengals defense that really stole the show in Week 1. Sure, they gave up some yards, but they also came up big in situations where they just didn’t in 2019. We saw them shutdown the Chargers on two fourth down attempts. More importantly they got big stops in the fourth quarter outside of one sustained touchdown drive. Holding any team to only 16 points is pretty impressive in today’s NFL.

Meanwhile, the Browns seem to be suffering from the same disappointment from last season. They went out and hired Kevin Stefanski as their head coach and improved their offensive line, but the Ravens still took them to school in Week 1. Was that just a matter of going up against one of the best teams the AFC has to offer, or is that a sign of things to come in 2020?This is just how everyone imagined the Week 2 Battle of Ohio would assemble – with both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals searching for their first victory of the NFL season.

The Bengals visit Cleveland in this Thursday Night Football matchup at FirstEnergy Stadium (8:20 pm ET kickoff). The forecast is for clear skies and a 16 mph wind with a game-time temperature of 60 degrees.

Cleveland is listed as the six-point chalk in the Bengals vs Browns odds. This season, fans will be able to watch games for FREE online with Yahoo! Sports through ClevelandBrowns.com on mobile web and the Browns app as long as the user is within the local broadcast radius. Links to watch will be available at the start of the game on the home page of both platforms. For the Browns, it was the biggest shellacking any NFL team has taken in Week 1, as they lost 38-6 to the Ravens. Dating back to last season, Cleveland has now lost four straight games, including a Week 17 defeat to these very Bengals.

Despite all of this, oddsmakers still aren’t giving Cincinnati much of a chance to win in Cleveland this Thursday in Round 1 of the Battle of Ohio. The initial spreads for Week 2 have the Browns favored by six points, which is a lot of points to give a team that looked as lost and disoriented in Week 1 as they did all of last year.

Then again, the Bengals are 3-22 over their last 25 games.Joe Burrow tasted defeat for the first time in nearly two years after the Cincinnati Bengals dropped their 2020 NFL season-opener to the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday. Burrow hadn’t lost since November 2018, when LSU was beaten 74-72 by Texas A&M in seven overtimes. The 2019 Heisman Trophy recipient will attempt to record his first NFL victory when the Bengals visit the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football to open Week 2. Kickoff from FirstEnergy Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.

Burrow, who guided LSU to a 15-0 record and the national championship last season, ran for a touchdown but was unable to get Cincinnati into the end zone again in its loss.
