The Once and Future Havel… the Havel Festival 2006

As promised, here is my review of the Havel Festival in New York, curated by Edward Einhorn and his Untitled Theater Company #61, that took place in NYC in (gulp) 2006.

How It’s New York:  These citywide Festivals couldn’t be more New York, somehow– they make you go all over town, to Brooklyn, to Columbia, Eastside, Westside, all around the town.  Havel was championed by Joe Papp and the Public Theater way back when, as well.
How It’s Irish:  It’s Celto-Slav!

I know this looks small, but if you click on it you can read it full-screen, or download it!  Tom Stoppard told me he keeps this essay inside Carol Rocamora’s book. I saw waaaay more plays than I could possibly write about; it was a rush!
