How It’s New York: We are so cramped in this city that any time we get a chance to see how the Other Half Lives, it’s a thrill!
How It’s Irish: Lots of people have pot-luck parties. This was a pot-luck party with instruments and many an Irish player.
Caitlin Warbelow, who teaches Advanced and Advanced Beginner Fiddle at Irish Arts Center, hosted a little pot-luck last week at the gorgeous duplex where she is housesitting. As sessions go, it was, as could be expected, pretty fiddle-heavy! Actress Eilin O’Dea, who just performed at Symphony Space in Selected Shorts, and has an upcoming one-woman show, Hello, Molly! there on June 9, was my guest. I brought mini-eclairs from Trader Joes, but the real feast was the view. Cockapoos Magic and Trixie acted as wonderful hosts.
