Nine plays are finalists in The Theater Project’s Fourth Annual Short Play Copetition, which takes place Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m., at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Road, Maplewood, NJ.
One of the finalists is by New York Irish Arts’ publisher Gwen Orel. There will be a $500 prize and an Audience Favorite Award.
Plawyrights in the festival are Stephen Bracco, Tabitha Dell’Angelo, Kari Floren, Brenda Foley, Shane Mullery, Gwen Orel, Michael Ricigliano, Lawrence Rinkel and Mike Sockol.

Gwen says: “It’s the first play I’ve had produced since college, not counting translations, and it deals (in a blackly humorous way) with the death of my father. But no pressure.”
