New York City-based traditional Irish band The Yanks announces the release of their second album, a two-disc set titled Haymaker available on Amazon, Bandcamp, and iTunes on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Haymaker, recorded in Grammy Award-winning engineer Glenn Barratt’s Morningstar Studio, features 22 tracks with 84 minutes of new material and – for the first time – songs with the guest talent of The Murphy Beds and drummer Josh Dukes. The title track represents the tone of the album – featuring a reel called “The Haymaker” sourced from Kerry fiddler Paddy Cronin, the set is arranged to include saxophone and drums reflecting the spirit of New York City’s Irish dance halls in the 1920s.
Haymaker will be available for early sale exclusively to audience members at the band’s album release concert!
