The Cure by Conal Creedon

Following the success of Conal Creedon’s After Luke and When I Was God (1st Irish 2009, Irish Rep) comes the third in the inspired trilogy. The Cure is set at the height of Ireland’s Celtic boomtime, “The Celtic Tiger.” Our narrator has just spent the last three days drinking away his annual Christmas bonus while his wife and kids are at home. Of course he believes he needs “a cure,” just one or two more pints to keep his party going and the pangs of guilt away. So he believes.
