Reddit ACM Awards 2020 Live Online: With just two days to go, additional performances continue to be announced. Taylor Swift was announced as a performer on Sunday (Sept. 13). She’ll sing “Betty,” and Urban and Pink were also announced as performers during a separate part of the show. Lindsey was previously nominated for ACM Songwriter of the Year in 2017 and 2018. This year, she beat out Ashley Gorley, Michael Hardy, two-time winner Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne to win.

After a six-month delay as organizers figured out how (and where) to stage an awards show during a global pandemic, the 55th annual Academy of Country Music Awards finally announce their winners on Wednesday night. Dubbed “A Night of Heart and Hits Live From Nashville,” the ACMs, hosted by Keith Urban, will feature the requisite reading of the envelopes, along with a slew of live and pretaped performances. Here’s all you need to know.Taylor Swift returns to the ACMs for the first time in seven years to debut the live performance of her Folklore track “Betty.”

Other performers include Keith Urban with Pink, Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Mickey Guyton, Tim McGraw, and Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani. In addition, all five of the Entertainer of the Year nominees will open the show with a medley of their hits.The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards will welcome back Taylor Swift and present a new collaboration from the evening’s host Keith Urban and P!nk on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Nine-time ACM Award winner Swift, whose latest studio album Folklore has topped the Billboard 200 for six weeks, will come back for the first time in seven years to perform the country-leaning fan-favorite track “Betty.”For the first time in the awards show’s history, the ACMs will be broadcast live from Nashville, with socially distanced performances from the Grand Ole Opry House, the historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

The 2020 ACM Awards will open with an all-star performance from the Entertainer of the Year nominees. Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett will start Wednesday night’s (Sept. 16) CBS broadcast. Billboard shares that the five nominees for the night’s top prize will perform a medley of their own hits at the very beginning of a show that will feature nearly two dozen performances. Keith Urban is going to host the show from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, while other performances will originate from the Bluebird Cafe and Ryman Auditorium.

Lindsey’s recent No. 1 songs include Luke Bryan’s “Knockin’ Boots” and “What She Wants Tonight.” With Love Junkies co-writers McKenna and Liz Rose, she penned, among others, “It All Comes Out in the Wash” for Miranda Lambert’s newest album, Wildcard. She’s also recently written Cam’s “Till There’s Nothing Left,” Kelsea Ballerini’s “Hole in the Bottle,” Carly Pearce’s “You Kissed Me First” and more. The 2020 ACM Awards will take place on Sept. 16, 2020 at 8PM ET. The awards show will broadcast on CBS from three separate Music City venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, the Bluebird Cafe and the Ryman Auditorium. Keith Urban will host the show.

In March, the Academy announced that the show — originally scheduled for April 5 in Las Vegas — would be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the show will air from three iconic Nashville locations on Wednesday, Sept. 16: the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe.In February, Keith Urban revealed that he’d be hosting the ACM Awards (originally planned for April) after winning the entertainer of the year award the year prior.

“As if having a new song out today wasn’t enough, I also get to host the ACMs,” Urban said in a statement. “I’ll tell you – this year already feels like the most creative and energized year of my life… and there’s so much more to come. Incredibly grateful – and ready to roll!”With five nominations each, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett and producer Dann Huff stand in the lead for most nods with five each.

Thomas Rhett, 30, is up for the coveted entertainer of the year award — his first-ever nomination in the category — along with male artist of the year and video of the year. Meanwhile, the “Middle” singer, 30, is up for female artist of the year, group of the year (as a member of The Highwomen) and musical event of the year. Thomas Rhett and Morris are both nominated twice in the album of the year category for performing and producing their albums.

Following closely behind are duo Dan + Shay, Blake Shelton and Old Dominion with four nominations. Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde and Kacey Musgraves earned three each. This is the first time Urban hosts the ACM Awards and follows in the footsteps of Reba McEntire, who hosted the show for the 16th time last year.
