An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on [day], repeating indefinitely
WHAT: 10th Annual Holiday Cheer for FUV benefit concert
WHERE: The Beacon Theatre, 2124 Broadway, NYC
WHEN: Monday, December 8, 8:00 pm
WHO: Conor Oberst & Friends, featuring Natalie Merchant, The Felice Brothers, Suzanne Vega, Laura Marling, The Lone Bellow, and Jonathan Wilson
WHY: A unique evening of collaboration to benefit the musically innovative public radio station.
It’s built around Conor Oberst, a solo artist with (and without) the Mystic Valley Band, a founder of Saddle Creek Records and the Team Love label, the frontman of Bright Eyes, one-third of the supergroup Monsters of Folk and leader of the harder-rocking Desaparecidos.
The “Friends” who will perform, both on their own and with Conor, include the platinum-selling former lead singer of 10,000 Maniacs and solo artist Natalie Merchant, the buoyant folk-rockers The Felice Brothers, the iconic New York singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega, the Mercury Prize nominee Laura Marling, the acclaimed young Brooklyn-based band, The Lone Bellow, and California performer and producer Jonathan Wilson.
Last year’s Holiday Cheer concert, Iron & Wine and Friends, sold out the Beacon. This one is expected to as well.
