Fiddler Marie Reilly was born in County Longford to a family with deep musical roots in neighboring County Leitrim. She learned much of her music from her father Michael Reilly, a fiddling blacksmith to whom she dedicated her debut recording,The Anvil. Marie, who in her day job is the Protocol Officer at the Consulate General of Ireland in New York, recently issued a second recording, The Road to Glannagh: Music of South Leitrim. On that CD, which features many rare and distinctive local tunes, she was joined in the studio, as she will be at this concert, by a talented backup trio consisting of County Kilkenny native John Walsh on guitar, Krista Charles at the piano and Lincoln Schleifer on bass.
