Irish Open 2020 Live Stream: The young Thai golfer is a serial winner in Asia – he has amassed seven tournament wins on the Asian and Japanese Tours – who has yet to make an impact globally, but it would seem to be only a matter of time. Having turned professional just a month after his 15th birthday, Jazz took time out at the end of the 2016 season to join the monkhood, which he later claimed benefitted him on his return to tour life. His biggest win came in last year’s Singapore Open when he held off Paul Casey to win the title, one of four wins in 2019.

Galgorm Castle Golf Club in County Antrim samples its first taste of European Tour action this week, when it stages the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

The tournament was originally scheduled for the end of May but was postponed along with many other sporting events following the outbreak of Covid-19.

But when the Ryder Cup was called off in early July, Ireland’s national open returned to the calendar with a new venue and considerably reduced prize money.

However, Galgorm Castle is not an untried layout, having been part of the Challenge Tour’s annual rota since 2013.

Just a few weeks ago, the Ballymena venue hosted the Northern Ireland Open and it now gets the opportunity to make its debut on the European Tour.

This award-winning parkland course was designed by Simon Gidman and opened in 1997.

Water is a regular theme at Galgorm Castle which is laid out close to the rivers of Maine and Braid.

The venue also has five lakes, with water coming into play on 12 holes – and possibly more, depending on how wayward a golfer is.
The still Open champion Shane Lowry is by far the highest-ranked golfer taking part, although the 33-year-old from County Offaly will have to share top billing with three-time major winner Padraig Harrington.

Harrington had been expecting to captain the European Ryder Cup team this week in Wisconsin.

Instead, the 49-year-old Dubliner makes his first competitive appearance since early March.

Two absentees are Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy, who have decided to remain Stateside rather than travel across the Atlantic.

Rahm is the reigning Irish Open champion, and was all set to play in May before the event was postponed.
