(New York, NY) April 25, 2018—Next Friday, at the same time the world will be showing up at TEFAF, Gallery Vallois America, located just down the block from the Park Armory, will present the exhibition, In Search of Lost Time by Irish sculptor, Patrick O’Reilly. The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 5th at 4:00 pm – 8:00pm at Vallois America, 27 East 67th Street in presence with the artist. The exhibition will run through September 29th 2018.
In Search of Lost Time, (referencing the illustrous novel of Marcel Proust), will consist of works of bronze sculpture, through the identification of the bear. The teddy bear from our child hood days, to the adult bear, which keeps marching on in spite of life’s turbulences and unexpectancies. Also utilizing this medium, the artist examines themes of innocence, companionship, trust, memory, fragility and the existential question of man’s place in the universe.
Born and raised in Ireland, O’Reilly studied at the Belfast School of Art. He is represented by The Mayor Gallery in London, Galerie Vallois in Paris, Gormleys Fine Art in Dublin and Belfast. He has exhibited his work in 2013 at Vallois New York and exhibits regularly throughout Europe.
