Waterford piper David Power and acclaimed fiddler Willie Kelly are on an East Coast tour launching their first album together, “Apples in Winter.”
David Power is one of Ireland’s foremost musicians on the uilleann pipes. He’s toured Stateside with Martin Hayes & Masters of Tradition on Tour for three consecutive years, and performed with Seamus Heaney and Gabriel Byrne. He also plays with Ciarán Somers and Donal Clancy in the group Pipers Union, and has three solo piping recordings. Willie Kelly was born in the Bronx to a musical family from Ireland. He has performed extensively with renowned Galway flute player Mike Rafferty, releasing an acclaimed CD together called The New Broom. A respected fiddle teacher in New Jersey for the past twenty years, Kelly lives in New Jersey with his wife Siobhan, an accomplished flute player from County Clare, and their children.
