The fabulous BARLEYJUICE will be at New York City’s favorite lower east side club, Arlene’s Grocery, on Thursday June 26th. This leading Celtic Rock Band will perform songs from their latest cd, ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’ along with your favorites like ‘Weekend Irish’ and ‘Get Your Irish On’ – and you may catch the Juicers version of ‘Baba O’riley’ !!!! Opening for them is a band called Zider Zee, the former band of Barleyjuice member, Keith ‘Swanny’ Swanson.
In an article for the Irish Voice, music writer Mike Farragher noted “The band’s shows are the stuff of fiery, sweaty folklore, with beer splashing, glasses clinking and arms flailing. These new songs will be more fodder for the proverbial musical cannon, right from the opening number.”
